Of the nine VRs that were used, Western Greyhound's LFJ858W was the only VR present that is owned by a bus company.

Ex Torpoint LFJ847W. It wasn't (and isn't) the only VR to carry this livery with the magenta 'fades' between the dark blue and the white on the lower bodyside, as fellow preserved GRF709V is presented the same, though with a thicker dark blue skirt.

LFJ858W and SFJ106R arrive at Penzance on two seperate workings from St Ives on routes 16 and 17. Route numbers used on the day were based on those in use in 1984, many of which are still the same today. Full workings for all of the VRs are shown on yesterdays news update.

Export
DPX685W
This ex Hulme Hall VR was featured in ITV news in the south west on Friday night, during the report it was mentioned that this vehicle is to be exported to Italy. It is currently in Bristol.
Great photos from a great day! Unfortunately our VR 1106 is languishing in Okehampton with a cracked thermostat housing.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Peter, it seems to have an attraction to Okehampton! Good to meet you. Shaun.
ReplyDeleteLikewise Shaun. Yes, it seems to be stubbornly attaching itself to the West Country. Hopefully will be collecting sometime next week.
